Gold Chrome Tutorial


Step 1: Type your text. Put a selection around your text by holding the Apple+ Click on your type layer .

Step 2: Go under the Select menu and choose Save Selection. Click Ok.

Step 3: Deselect. 

Step 4: Go under the Channels Palette and click on Alpha 1 . Go under the Filter menu, under Blur, and choose Gaussian Blur. Enter 1 pixels. Click OK. 

Step 5:  Return to the layers palette and click once on the background layer . Go under the Filter Menu, under Render, and choose Lightening Effects. When the dialog box appears, change Texture Channel to Alpha 1 . Then click OK.

Step 6: Go under the Image Menu . under adjustments, and choose Curves. Change the Input to 186 and the Output to 64. Click OK.

Step 7: Go under the select Menu and choose Load Selection . Choose Alpha 1 from the Channel Pop Up Menu . Click OK.

Step 8: Go under the Select Menu , under Modify and choose Expand. Enter 3 pixels. Click OK. 

Step 9: Press Shift+Apple+J.

Step 10: In the Layers Palette, click  once on the background layer. Press Apple+ A. Press Delete

Step 11: Deselect Click on the text layer in your layers palette. Add a Drop Shadow . Click OK.

Step 12: Add a Color Overlay. Change the Blend Mode to Overlay. Click the Color Swatch.       R= 208, G=165, B=16 . Click OK.
